Dmitri HvorostovskyBaritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky performs at the Barbican with his regular partner at the piano, Ivary Ilja. The programme includes music by some of the greatest song composers from his native Russia with romances by Rachmaninov and Gliere on poems by Alexander Pushkin. Hvorostovsky, who has long championed Georgi Sviridov's songs, performed his "Petersburg" at Sviridov's 80th Birthday Jubilee Celebration in 1995, and does so once again for this performance.

About Barbican Centre

Described by the Queen as 'one of the wonders of the modern world' , the Barbican Centre has also been voted 'London's ugliest building'. Ugly or not, this multi-faceted performance and arts venue is truly wondrous. Open 363 days a year, it offers the most diverse program of any London venue. More about Barbican Centre
