What exactly is the heart of Hackney? Well, if you ask eight contemporary artists you get a delightfully mixed response. Their impressions are relayed through photography, painting, sculpture, drawing, audio and, erm, a specially tailored walking tour of chip shops in the area. Walkwalkwalk, the team behind the chip shop walk, will even lead a nocturnal stroll on 21 June, ideal for those in search of a fried potato. E8 resident Tom Hunter - whose photography was recently the first to be shown at The National Gallery - presents an eerie shot of London Fields, his local park. Meanwhile writer Gary O'Connor, who also took part in the preceding E9 exhibition in 2004, draws inspiration from a real experience when he was trapped in the Regent Studios lift and accompanies his words with a sound you really wouldn't want to hear if you were ever stuck in this situation - that of a lift dropping.
