As part of the East End Film Festival and organised with the Independent Label Market - where the founders of some of the world's top indie labels pitch stalls and sell records - East End Live is a new one-day musical festival that encompasses twelve venues and boasts a solid 60-band line-up. Headliners of the festival will be post-punk band The Monochrome Set, who will perform at Cargo. Further veteran rockers on the line-up include Pere Ubu, Charles de Goal and Blurt, while young talent comes from the likes of Toy and Wet Nuns, ranging from psychedelic rock and doom metal to punk and indie rock.
Cargo were pioneers of the multi-tasking MDF concept (that's Music-Dance-Food, not cheap fibreboard) and boast one of the most imaginative live music line-ups in the capital, as well as film screenings and art. Fuel up with some excellent South American street food, wile away a summer afternoon in their courtyard and groove till the small hours under the refitted railway arches. More about Cargo
