Edvard Munch: The Modern EyeThe Modern Eye is a major exhibition of work by celebrated artist Edvard Munch at the Tate Modern. Combining his pictorial work from the twentieth century with his interest in the modern representational forms of photography and film, the exhibition presents Munch as a twentieth century artist, thoroughly reflecting the modernity of his era. His famous paintings include The Sick Child, Madonna and, perhaps his most iconic piece, The Scream, which was part of a series called The Frieze of Life, in which he explored the themes of love, fear, death and anxiety. This showcase of the Norwegian symbolist painter is sure to be a hit with London art lovers.

About Tate Modern

Located along the banks of the River Thames in the former Bankside Power Station, originally designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1947, the architect of Battersea Power Station, Tate Modern opened to great acclaim in 2000. Since then it has welcomed millions of visitors through its imposing doors. More about Tate Modern
