The English National Ballet company showcases its versatility with Ecstasy and Death, a mixed programme of three works from the 20th century, choreographed by Jiri Kylian, Roland Petit and Harald Lander, staged for six performances only. Nicholas le Riche, Etoile of the Paris Opera Ballet, will join the company to dance the role of Le Jeune Homme in Roland Petit's choreographic masterpiece which has attracted some of the greatest male dancers, from Nureyev to Baryshnikov. The final piece, Etudes by Harald Lander, tells the story of how a daily ballet class develops from simple stretching at the barre to a full virtuoso performance showcasing the artistry and skills of the corps de ballet.
