English National Ballet: Le Corsaire (The Pirate) After performing it in January 2014 - the first time the complete work was performed by a British company - English National Ballet once again present Le Corsaire (The Pirate) at the London Coliseum. The 19th century Russian swashbuckling dance-drama based on the poem The Corsair by Lord Byron showcases some of the most bravura male dancing in the ballet repertoire. The ballet is in three acts, telling the story of Medora, a young Greek girl, who seized by Conrad the pirate who takes her to his grotto and declares his love for her. The staging by Anna-Marie Holmes features music by Adolphe Adam, Leo Delibes and Prince Oldenbourg. Hollywood film designer Bob Ringwood (Batman, Alien 3, Star Trek Nemesis, AI and Troy) has created the sets and costumes.
