English Touring Opera: King PriamWritten for the reconsecration of the rebuilt Coventry Cathedral in 1962, Tippett's King Priam is a magnificent evocation of the last days of Troy inspired by Homer's Iliad. An ambitious production from the English Touring Opera, staged in the smaller Linbury Studio Theatre at the Royal Opera House, the story is told from the perspective of the aging king and is a meditation on fatherhood and on the futility of war.

About Linbury Studio Theatre

Part of the Royal Opera House, the Linbury Studio Theatre seats up to 394 people in theatre style. The studio can also be hired for private events and can be adjusted to accommodate 400 for a standing reception, 300 for banqueting and 250 for a dinner and dance. More about Linbury Studio Theatre
