THIS EVENT ENDED ON THE 21ST MAY 2011
One of the world's most celebrated living guitarists enrolls at the intimate Royal Albert Hall for a series of 11 dates in May which will remind the capital of his rock n blues Godlike status. It's three years since Eric Clapton, the only person in history to be inducted onto the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times, last visited the renowned venue so this should be one to savour. After establishing himself as one of the best in the business playing in bands such as the Yardbirds, Cream and Derek and the Dominos, Clapton went on to forge a remarkable solo career which saw him ranked as one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Renowned for his innovation with genres and superb songwriting skills, Clapton has collaborated with pinnacles of the profession, including Phil Collins, George Harrison, Queen, Pink Floyd, Zucchero and Frank Zappa. Nicknamed 'Slowhand' because of the slow handclap of the audience each time he changes a broken string on stage, the veteran guitar maestro will perform his extensive back catalogue of hits, no doubt featuring favorites such as Layla, Cocaine and Wonderful Night.
