Every Good Boy Deserves FavourEvery Good Boy Deserves Favour returns to the National Theatre following a successful run this time last year. Tom Stoppard and Andre Previn's play about a Soviet dissident forced to share a cell with a madman who believes he has an orchestra under his control has rarely been staged. This is because it requires a full orchestra to perform a detailed score alongside the small cast, making this as much a piece of classical music as a drama. It was originally created for the Queen's Silver Jubilee - in a production that featured Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart - and now returns to the Olivier directed by Punchdrunk's Felix Barrett.

About National Theatre

Each year the three superb venues in the National Theatre put on a significant proportion of the world's best productions. From intimate character studies in the Cottesloe (currently closed for refurbishment), to grand spectacles in the Olivier, the National Theatre is the spiritual centre of the British theatrical tradition.
