Nearby Family Week Picnic

There's a whole host of family fun to be had as part of National Family Week which runs during the summer half term, from 31st May to 6th June, and one of the highlights is the return of the Family Week Picnic. Londoners can join the family picnic at Alexandra Palace,
one of eight flagship venues taking part, on the second May Bank Holiday Monday, on 31st May, but there are also picnics taking place at over 1,000 locations across
the UK. Ali Pali will be filled with face
painters, a funfair and there's the family lakeside Art Trail to follow as well as pitch & putt, the
boating lake and 196 acres of parkland to enjoy. This north London favourite is a great place to bring your own picnic and enjoy a fun family day out. The Family Week Picnic is just one of the events being organised for National Family Week, you can also join in events centred around Story Time, Film Day and Sports Day - including a three-legged race record breaking attempt at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 5th June. Check www.nationalfamilyweek.co.uk for details.
About Alexandra Palace
After a shaky start - destroyed by fire 16 days after 'The People's Palace' first opened in 1873 - Alexandra Palace re-opened again two years later becoming the place from where the BBC beamed its first broadcast in 1935. The palace title maybe a little misleading - it's charm being more shabby chic than regal. More about Alexandra Palace
