Making its West End debut in September comes Faust, the universally known tale of a man who sells his soul to the devil, which is bought to the Young Vic stage in an acclaimed production featuring an original score by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis (of Australian alternative rock group Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds). The production comes direct from Iceland, and sees the Vesturport and Reykjavík City Theatre's circus-inspired retelling of Goethe's classic tale make its UK premiere. Co-written and directed by Gisli Orn Garoarsson, whose previous work has garnered rave reviews from seasoned critics ('No one blazes a trail of theatrical excitement and thrilling invention quite like Gisli Orn Garoarsson' - Evening Standard), Faust is sure to set the West End alight this autumn.About The Young Vic
Knocked together out of breeze blocks for a minimal budget in 1970, Lawrence Olivier's experimental theatre was intended to last for five years, and provide an inspiration for the new generation of performers. But this was an experiment that worked and, years later, the Young Vic remains south London's premier venue for the contemporary, the shocking, the controversial, and the bizarre.
