Fear and Love: Reactions to a Complex WorldOne of three opening exhibitions at the Design Museum in its brand new Kensington home presents eleven newly commissioned installations by OMA, Hussein Chalayan and a handful of the world's leading designers and architects. Fear and Love explores the issues that define our time, including networked sexuality, sentient robots, slow fashion and settled nomads. In response to the Brexit vote, OMA, the architecture practice founded by Rem Koolhaas, presents The Pan-European Living Room. Fashion designer Hussein Chalayan reveals your emotions through wearable devices and, most eye catching of them all, Madeline Gannon has transformed a robot into Mimus, a machine who reacts to the people around her and makes her own decisions. There's no doubt: the new Design Museum is a laboratory of ideas.

About Design Museum

In 2016 the Design Museum moves from is long standing home at Shad Thames to a venue three times the size, the former Commonwealth Institute building in Kensington High Street. The Grade II* listed building has been transformed by a design team led by John Pawson to include the Swarovski Foundation Centre for Learning, 202-seat Bakala Auditorium and a dedicated gallery to display its permanent collection, accessible free of charge.
