Festival of IdeasA ten day celebration of creativity, culture and critical thinking, the first Festival of Ideas at the Royal Academy of Arts calls on a veritable who's who of the art world to share their thoughts. Held in the new 250-seat Benjamin West Lecture Theatre, at the Royal Academy's newly revamped campus, the line-up includes Gilbert & George, Director of the V&A Tristram Hunt and artist and designer Es Devlin - whose latest project adds a fifth lion to Trafalgar Square for the London Design Festival. Playwright James Graham and Rupert Goold, artistic director of the Almeida Theatre, come together to talk about making theatre. You'll also get the chance to hear from Bob and Roberta Smith, photographers David Bailey and Don McCullin, author Sebastian Faulks and artistic director of English National Ballet, Tamara Rojo, among others. There's a family strand with at talk by The Tiger Who Came to Tea author Judith Kerr, interactive storytelling and appearances from Lauren Child and Cressida Cowell.
