Field DayBritish band Metronomy headline Saturday at Field Day while recently-reunited US band the Pixies headline the Sunday leg of the Victoria Park festival which moves to June and expands to become a two-day event in 2014, the year the East London festival celebrates its eighth birthday. Saturday's bill includes Warpaint, Sky Ferreira, The Temper Trap and Syrian folk singer Omar Souleyman who has collaborated with Damon Albarn's Gorillaz. Sunday's headline act is pioneering band of the late '80s alt/rock movement, the Pixies who release Indie Cindy the band's first full studio album since 1991's Trompe le Monde, in late April. Having blazed the trail for artists from Nirvana to Radiohead to Pearl Jam they are now bringing their music to a whole new generation of music fans. Head to Field Day for subdued electro, melancholic folk, bold dance acts and a dreamy summer vibe. After parties at neighbouring clubs keep the vibe going after the main event - curfew at 10.45pm - has closed.

About Victoria Park

One of London's best kept secrets, Victoria Park is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon. The city's first public park, it was opened in the East End in 1845 after a local MP presented Queen Victoria with a petition of 30,000 signatures. More about Victoria Park
