England get their cricketing summer off the ground at Lord's with the first of two tests against Bangladesh. Captain Andrew Strauss will be back in the fold after taking a breather for England's mini tour of Bangladesh earlier this spring. In his absence, Alastair Cook led the visitors to a 2-0 whitewash, with off-spinner Graeme Swann emerging the man of the series after taking 16 wickets in total, including a 10-wicket haul in the first test. The damper English pitches may not prove so beneficial for Swann this time round but expect England to pick up where they left off with two easy victories as they warm up for the more testing test series against Pakistan later in the summer. With the fine weather we've been having so far this spring there will be high hopes of five interrupted days of play at Lords - provided the match goes the distance.About Lord's Cricket Ground
This revered ancient cricket ground has been the site of many a historic victory and many more England batting collapses. While Lord's Cricket Ground has long been seen as the "home of cricket" and the game's spiritual headquarters, its importance does not lie merely in its historic past.
