Franz WestThis winter, Tate Modern presents an extensive posthumous survey of Vienna-born artist Franz West. Known for bringing a punk aesthetic to the pristine spaces of art galleries, the artist specialised in abstract sculptures, furniture, collages and large-scale works, most of which are direct and crude. The major retrospective will provide the chance to handle replicas of his papier-m‚chť pieces while many other playful works will go on display.

About Tate Modern

Located along the banks of the River Thames in the former Bankside Power Station, originally designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1947, the architect of Battersea Power Station, Tate Modern opened to great acclaim in 2000. Since then it has welcomed millions of visitors through its imposing doors. More about Tate Modern
