Gangsta GrannyNeil Foster adapts the popular children's book Gangsta Granny by David Walliams for the stage in 2017. Transferring to the Garrick Theatre for a limited summer season after a successful UK tour, the stage version was nominated for a UK Theatre Award for Best Show for Children and Young People. The story follows Ben, a young boy who is staying in with his Granny on a dull Friday night. He's expecting cabbage soup, pie and cake, but he soon realises that his Granny has her very own secret and Friday become more exciting than he could have ever dreamed. The production has been created by the Birmingham Stage Company, who are responsible for the Horrible Histories series.

About Garrick Theatre

Named after the great 18th century actor-manager David Garrick, whose portrait hangs in the foyer bar, The Garrick is a fantastic piece of late-Victorian kitsch, originally financed by WS Gilbert. The interior is decorated like a Renaissance palace, all cupids and laurels, with hardly a smooth surface visible among all the moulding, gilt and classical statues. More about Garrick Theatre
