Gary HumeEnglish painter, draughtsman and printmaker Gary Hume emerged as one of the leading figures of the group of young artists labelled the YBAs (Young British Artists) in the 1990s. He graduated from Goldsmiths College in 1988 and his work appeared in the seminal 'Freeze' show that same year. In June 2013, Tate Britain stages a show on the artist who represented Britain at the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999 and more recently filled the White Cube, Mason's Yard, with his 'paradise paintings' and limestone sculptures. See the Patrick Caulfield exhibition while you're there and you'll take in the works of two influential contemporary British artists in one day.

About Tate Britain

Overlooking the River Thames, Tate Britain was originally founded through the philanthropy of the sugar magnate Sir Henry Tate. The Tate legacy now encompasses three other galleries around the UK, including Tate Modern also in London. Dedicated to showcasing Britain's artistic talent, Tate Britain is home to the greatest collection of British art from 1500 to the present day. More about Tate Britain
