Organised "by the industry, for the industry," the Gastech conference and exhibition is about bringing together thousands of professionals working in the gas industry to promote fresh business opportunities, exchange ideas and innovations across the gas value chain and create new contacts. As the natural gas industry's premier event with the support of 21 leading associations and governing bodies, the event's organisers describe it as "the must-attend industry event in the global gas calendar" since its launch in 1972. And with the BBC's Professor Brian Cox lending his superior wisdom and Mancunian tones to Gastech's 2011 event in Amsterdam, the London event at Excel promises to be just as interesting. Split into two parts, the exhibition showcases the latest products and services from more than 400 international exhibitors whilst the conference, with its 120 speakers drawn from the highest regions of the industry, airs the world's leading ideas for commercial and technical innovation, in order to further the understanding of the most important issues facing the gas industry not only today, but in future too. The venue is a ten minute walk from Canary Wharf. It's served by the Docklands Light Railway with three nearby stations.
