Nearby Gesamtkunstwerk: New Art From Germany

A survey of 24 contemporary German artists, with works in various disciplines on show by artists including Dirk Bell, Alexander Bircken, Georg Herold, Volker Hueller and Uwe Tobias. It's an "enjoyably eclectic survey of new German art", writes Laura Cumming in The Guardian while The Telegraph's Alastair Sooke singles out beautiful abstract sculptures by Ida Ekblad, a young Scandinavian artist who lives in Oslo and Berlin, and Isa Genzken - who represented Germany at the Venice Biennale in 2007 - for special mention. He declares sculpture the highlight of a show filled with "experimentation and invention" which will introduce visitors to many artists they most likely won't already know.About Saatchi Gallery
The Saatchi Gallery re-opened on 9th October 2008 in the former military barracks of the Duke of York's Headquarters. The 70,000 square feet represents a significantly larger space than its previous 40,000 occupancy at County Hall. Ousted from the Southbank site in 2005, the re-location of the gallery had long been speculated upon and hotly anticipated. More about Saatchi Gallery
