The Estorick Collection presents a major exhibition on Giacomo Balla this spring. One of the undisputed masters of modern Italian art, Balla was one of the five signatories of Futurism's initial painting manifestos of 1910 as well as a pioneering figure of European Modernism. Curated by leading artist Fabio Benzi, this exhibition will bring together 116 works loaned by the Biagiotti Cigna Collection, which is one of the largest collections of Balla's works in the world. On display will be paintings and drawings, as well as abstraction and applied art and fashion-related designs.

 

About Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art

You'll find a spectacular collection of paintings and sculpture by 20th century Italian artists at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art, with a core of Futurist works by Balla, Boccioni, Carra, Russolo and Severini. The collection, housed here since 1994, also includes figurative art created between 1890 and 1950 by artists such as Modigliani, Marino Marini, Giorgio Morandi and Giorgio de Chirico.
