These long string puppets are rarely seen these days, overtaken by the Buzz Lightyears - or should that be Nintendos - of this world. But the legacy of puppet master John Wright, who founded The Little Angel Theatre in 1961, continues as his puppets are brought out for this delightful tale by Children's Laureate Michael Rosen. Rosen says, "The collaboration came about because the Little Angel approached me and I said yes! So we worked together over several days, during which I wrote and we improvised and I wrote some more." The result became the script which was then shortened and edited down during rehearsals. The story is a new one but features some familiar characters - the Little Mermaid and Rapunzel among them - as well as a hungry Leopard and tightrope walking Angelo. A sure treat for the younger members of the family.
