| For one weekend a year sleepy, suburban Dollis Hill ushers in a carnival atmosphere. With its name a pun on a certain Somerset music festival, Gladstone Park is turned into a haven of sound and culture bringing together the local community and visitors from miles around. The live music, performed on two stages, is a hotchpotch of rock, jazz, Irish, world and open mic. Mill around the periphery sampling from the stalls vending beer, handicrafts and food from around the world. Or cast the music aside for a couple of hours between 12 and 4 to enjoy the pun-tastic Woofstock dog show. On top of that ColourDome brings together colours and light to the soundtrack of Mongolian and Balinese music. Crowds of over 10,000 are expected at this free event. If the weather is fine it's likely to be packed. |
