Few performers have had as varied a career as Grace Jones, the sexagenarian disco legend who is set to light up the Royal Albert Hall this April. Having graced the catwalks of New York and Paris with her striking frame, piercing cheekbones and flat-top hair, she released a trio of disco albums in the late 70s before turning experimental in the 80s, fusing her trademark contralto with a monotone speak-sing so popular with today's revivalists. She even had time to star as Roger Moore's unlikely love interest May Day in the James Bond film View to a Kill. Jones made a comeback in 2008 with Hurricane, her first album of new material for almost 20 years. Following a star turn at the Meltdown Festival that year, Jones picked up an Idol Award from Q Magazine and returned to the stage across Europe. Having performed at Somerset House last summer, she now heads to one of London's best-loved venue for what should be a thrilling night of nostalgia. Something of a loose canon - she is renowned for her drunk, near-demented interviews - Jones is also a trend setter and something of a fashion icon. Looking at her contrasting looks through the ages and her vast array of costumes and accessories, it's easy to see where a certain Lady Gaga found her inspiration.
