Great ExpectationsAs a boy, orphan Pip has a disturbing encounter with escaped convict Magwitch in the marshes close to the home he shares with his haughty sister and her husband Joe. Soon after, the boy is dispatched to visit the reclusive Miss Havisham, who requires a playmate for her ward, Estella. At first, Pip is scared of Miss Havisham but once the boy meets Estella, fear is replaced by infatuation and he falls under the spell of the girl, who has been raised "to wreak revenge on all men". With Chris Ellison as Magwitch and Paula Wilcox as Miss Havisha, Great Expectations returns to the West End at the Vaudeville Theatre. To celebrate Dickens's birthday, on 7th February, a special live screening will be broadcast at cinemas across the UK. To find your nearest participating cinema and book tickets visit www.greatexpectationstheplay.com/cinema.

About Vaudeville Theatre

One of the theatre's major successes was in 1954 with the musical 'Salad Days', starring Julian Slade and Deborah Reynolds. More about Vaudeville Theatre
