Happy DaysOlivier Award-winning stage and screen actress Juliet Stevenson (unforgettable star of Truly Madly Deeply) takes on one the great roles in Samuel Beckett's surreal masterpiece Happy Days, in a Young Vic production directed by Natalie Abrahami who directed a "compulsively watchable" (Guardian) revival of 'After Miss Julie' here two years ago. Stevenson makes her Young Vic debut as Winnie, a middle-aged woman who is trapped in a scorched wasteland with her detached husband, Willie, and appears on stage buried up to her waist in a great mound of earth.

About The Young Vic

Knocked together out of breeze blocks for a minimal budget in 1970, Lawrence Olivier's experimental theatre was intended to last for five years, and provide an inspiration for the new generation of performers. But this was an experiment that worked and, years later, the Young Vic remains south London's premier venue for the contemporary, the shocking, the controversial, and the bizarre.
