Harrods Winter Sale has assumed iconic status among the London sales, with hopeful customers queuing overnight to snap up the first bargains. Celebrity appearances are by TV personality, actress and 'Come Dancing' star Kelly Brook and her fiance, Hollywood actor Billy Zane who will be cutting the ribbon at 9am. The Knightsbridge store is a national institution and the twice yearly sales create unrivalled excitement, with around 250,000 shoppers expected on the first day alone. For the sale around 2,500 temporary staff are drafted in to cope with the frenetic activity on the six floors of glossy products. There are some real bargains to be had and an impressive range of goods, but be prepared to struggle with the huge crowds.
