Iceland Dance Company: SacrificeIceland Dance Company presents the UK premiere of Sacrifice in an evening of new creations with leading choreographers and visual artists exploring the relationship between art and religion. Inspired by the idea of the ritual as an essential part of life, performance and visual artist Ragnar Kjartansson and choreographer Margrét Bjarnadóttir focus on the idea of youth with a group of dancers with acoustic guitars. American artist Matthew Barney, choreographer Erna Omarsdottir and musician Valdimar Johannsson collaborate on a performative video installation, Union of the North. Finally the festivities reach an immersive high at the Market, where people present their beliefs, ideas and solutions for a sustainable future.
