Ilya and Emilia KabakovRussian-born conceptual artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, known for their pioneering large-scale environments and installations, are the subject of a retrospective at Tate Modern this October. The major exhibition will explore the theme of failed utopia, touching on the artists' experience of Soviet society. It will trace a line from Ilya Kabakov's early works in Moscow before his emigration to the West in 1987, which were followed by the collaborative projects made with Emilia in America since 1988.

About Tate Modern

Located along the banks of the River Thames in the former Bankside Power Station, originally designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1947, the architect of Battersea Power Station, Tate Modern opened to great acclaim in 2000. Since then it has welcomed millions of visitors through its imposing doors. More about Tate Modern
