The free Insects Au Gratin installation, part of the Wellcome Collection's Who's the Pest festival, focuses on the future of food and shows how entomophagy (eating insects) could be part of it. A sustainable source of food, grasshoppers and grubs could be a commonplace ingredient if we could get over the 'ick' factor. This installation immerses you in the sensory world of harvesting these critters and explores possible insect foods. The installation is closed for drop-in visits when workshops held by food scientists and engineers are taking place - these are free to attend but you do need to book.

 

About Wellcome Collection

A major and fascinating cultural venue, the Wellcome Collection combines three galleries: 'Medicine Man', 'Medicine Now' and 'special exhibitions'. In addition you'll find the famous Wellcome Library, cafe, bookshop and a 'forum' to consider issues of science, health and human identity.
