England's indubitably long rehabilitation from their disgraceful World Cup capitulation starts with this friendly international match against Hungary at Wembley. Although, given their lacklustre performances in South Africa, it will be a surprise if many fans turn up to cheer on a team that seems quite frankly not to care. What's more, this clash occurs three days after the Community Shield and three days before the start of the Premiership season - and it doesn't take Frank Lampard's celebrated high IQ to guess where the loyalties of most players lie. All eyes will be on the newly laid pitch at Wembley - will it be as terrible as the one which injured so many players last year? Given the situation and the timing of the match, manager Fabio Capello will be best off ushering in a new dawn with a mass cull of England's overpaid "stars" and bringing in the players unjustly overlooked for the World Cup, such as Manchester City's Adam Johnson, Arsenal's Theo Walcott and Tottenham's Darren Bent. Anything would be better than the current crop of prima donnas. If only vuvuzelas blocked out your eyesight as well as your hearing...About Wembley Stadium
The national stadium of the England football team, Wembley Stadium - or New Wembley Stadium, as it is often referred to - was opened in 2007 after a full rebuild to the tune of £757 million. The second largest stadium in Europe, Wembley took over three years to build and is located on the site of the previous 1923 Wembley Stadium, often referred to as "The Twin Towers", which was demolished in 2003.
