From 25th July until 6th August, The O2 becomes the London home for the Jamaican Olympic team, fans and supporters with Respect Jamaica 50 presenting musicians, comedians, actors and writers from the Carribean island. Celebrating 50 years of independence, Jamaica 50 takes place in various venues within the O2, where the Jamaica Olympic House is located, including IndigO2, Proud2 at The O2 and the British Music Experience where a Bob Marley Exhibition is being displayed until 22nd October (£13.75). Highlights of the two-week festival include appearances from legendary ska and reggae singer Jimmy Cliff (£56.25 or £111, VIP) who appears on 6th August with Oneness on a bill with Derrick Morgan and Max Romeo, Lee 'Scratch' Perry and 'The Best in Jamaican Comedy' at Proud2 (tickets priced at £30.15). On 29th July, Jamaican Legends Ernest Ranglin (guitar), Tyrone Downie (piano), Sly Dunbar (drums) and Robbie Shakespeare (bass), each well known in their own right, appear on stage together.
About Indigo at The O2
Indigo at The O2 is a smaller live music and comedy venue inside The O2 with a capacity of 2,400. Opened in July 2007 with a memorable performance by Jools Holland, Indigo at The O2 has welcomed the likes of The Eagles, The Who, Prince, Paul Weller and The Feeling, as well as comedians Michael McIntyre and Dylan Moran.
