It is amazing really that nobody has thought of this before - a stand-up comedy show aimed squarely at 5-12 year olds. And held in a chocolate factory. James Campbell is one of the funniest men in comedy and the way he relates to kids, without props, red noses or anything but a cheeky grin, is remarkable. There will also be special guests from the comedy circuit every week.
In many ways this is less crude, potty-mouthed and juvenile than much of what you hear in grown-up comedy clubs. James Campbell has a great, absurdist sense of humour, and a stage persona that rolls from the sardonic to the clownish. His selection of weird stories and jokes is perfectly pitched for young minds. Whatever it is he's doing, it certainly works. The advent of this weekly comedy afternoon is great news for London families.
