A major survey of work by Swedish artist Jockum Nordstrom arrives at the Camden Arts Centre in July. The work of the Swedish artist, in the words of New York Times critic Roberta Smith, "is a more or less truculent crazy quilt of images, styles and events". Delicately and elegantly constructed works include collages, watercolors, graphite drawings, and architectural sculptures which feel improvisational and spontaneous, yet are rich in detail. Nordstrom was born in 1963 in Stockholm, where he continues to live and work. In 2010, his fifth gallery show, titled 'Who is sleeping on my pillow', marked the first time he exhibited alongside his artist-wife Karin Mamma Andersson in concurrent solo exhibitions.
About Camden Arts Centre
The Camden Arts Centre has become a prime location for top class arts exhibitions thanks to a radical renovation in 2007. The design, by Tony Fretton Architects, created a modern, light and spacious venue while retaining many original features such as the entrance arches, terrazzo flooring and tall, stone dressed windows.
