The retrospective exhibition focuses on John Carter's works on paper that show how he used drawing to develop ideas for his three-dimensional works. It features framed works and accompanying maquettes, sketchbooks and working studies created from 1965 to 2012. They focus on recurrent themes of geometry, symmetry and harmony and together they show his development from early op and pop art influences to more rigorously ordered structures.
