The 2010 Johnstone's Paint Trophy final sees Carlisle and Southampton have a bite at the big time with a spring date at Wembley. Founded in 1983, this cup competition is reserved for teams in the two lower divisions of the Football League and has earned the nickname "The Paint Pot Cup" due to its current sponsor. Sides competing must first win their regional final before facing off in the spiritual home of football. Fallen giants Southampton overcame fellow Premier League old boys MK Dons 3-1 in the Southern Area final to reach their first Wembley final in 18 years. The Saints did play Arsenal in the FA Cup final back in 2003, but their narrow 1-0 defeat was played at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. Representing the North are Carlisle, who reached their fifth Johnstone's Paint Trophy final following a dramatic 6-5 penalty shootout victory over Leeds. So far this season, nothing can separate both finalists: Southampton and Carlisle are currently mid-table and on level points in League One and played out a 1-1 draw at Elland Road back in September. Something's going to have to give for this Sunday afternoon Wembley showdown...
