The winner of last year's Edinburgh Comedy Award for best newcomer, Jonny Sweet, brings his debut solo show Mostly About Arthur for a 10-day run at the Soho Theatre. As the title suggests, the show is mostly about Arthur, Jonny's late brother, who was a highly regarded writer of blurbs on the back of books such as The Furtive Fork and Guantanamo Gay. Sweet, who recently played a young David Cameron in the More 4 drama about our future prime minister and Boris Johnson's time at Oxford, has perfected his comedy persona to a tee, kindly escorting his guests to their seats and wearing an awkwardly fixed smile to mask his obvious insecurities. With the aid of video, powerpoint presentation and a short biopic play, a besuited Sweet lauds the achievements of his sibling while endearing himself to us with a sense of comic tragedy not seen since Rob Brydon's 'Marion and Jeff'. With BBC2's 'Winging It' and the acclaimed sketch threesome 'House of Windsor' also in his armoury of mirth, Sweet is one to watch.
