Keys legend Jools Holland returns to the Royal Albert Hall with his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra for two nights of boogie-woogie, swing and ska. Performing alongside the telegenic pianist will be the stars of his album The Informer including old-school R'n'B singer Ruby Turner, peerless Jamaican trombonist Rico Rodriguez and vocalists Louise Marshall and Dave Edmunds. Ubiquitous on TV, Holland nevertheless remains one of Britain's musical treasures and has admirably kept his quintessentially British big band on the road for two decades now. "Only the most blinkered purist could fail to be swept along by the musicians' energy and bonhomie," says The Times of the Orchestra, adding: "Holland can turn out swing and boogie pastiche at the drop of a beret."
