Tae-kwon-do, the martial art that every Korean learns from a young age, is a dazzling spectacle. Focused on speed and agility, rather than power, it is full of jaw-dropping flips, acrobatics and swordplay. Ye Gam Theatre has taken these skills and applied them to slapstick comedy in hit show Jump, back at the Peacock Theatre for more crazy antics. Like a cross between a Jackie Chan movie and EastEnders, their outrageous fighting skills are used in a purely domestic situation as three generations of a family resolve their disputes in the most violent way possible, and turn them on a couple of clueless burglars. Glorious comic timing is matched to fantastic acrobatics and the sort of extremes of domestic violence we last saw when Bottom was still gracing our screens. Adults will love the grace and wit; children and teenagers will be bowled over by the slapstick. Somewhere between acrobatics, sitcom and dance, this is a work of true comic genius.About Peacock Theatre
This theatre is a major force on the national and international dance scene, with an innovative programme from Sadler's Wells that is keeping London's finger on the pulse. The Peacock Theatre became the company's base from 1996 to 1998 when a new theatre was being built on its Islington site and, since that time, has been a shining star in the Sadler's Wells sphere.
