Following a two-year break from the limelight, the Kaiser Chiefs returned with their controversial fourth studio album in mid-2011. 'The Future is Medieval' was released in a unique way that allowed fans to buy it directly from their website, selecting 10 of 20 available songs to create their own personalised compilation. An official version of the album was then later released, featuring 12 of the original songs and one previously unavailable track. This format created a debate within the music industry as to whether it was an ingenious marketing move or simply a scam that resulted in super-fans buying all 20 tracks. Having promoted the album - renamed 'Start The Revolution Without Me' for the US market - with a North American tour, they're now coming to the Brixton O2 Academy as part of their 2013 UK tour.
About Brixton Academy
This former cinema with its art deco interior, proscenium arch and 140ft dome is London's most celebrated venue for live music, winning Best Live Venue at the NME awards for 7 years in a row. The famous sloping floor means there are great views wherever you're standing, though keeping your feet can be a problem at the more raucous rock gigs. More about Brixton Academy
