There are few better locations for a summer evening concert to be enjoyed with a picnic and champagne than Kenwood House. With its own lake and captivating view, the grounds of this magnificent stately home on Hampstead Heath have been a unique fixture in the capital's summer concerts calendar for 56 years and counting. This year's Kenwood House Picnic Concerts launches on 24 June with a performance by Welsh legend Tom Jones. Highlights over the season include pianist and presenter Jools Holland (25 June), the multi-award winning Liza Minelli (1 July), legendary guitarist George Benson (2 July) and softly-spoken singer songwriter James Blunt (16 July). The season also includes a classical 'Prom' night, featuring Aled Jones (9 July), with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. A rich collection of famous paintings are housed within the walls of this neo-Classical villa perched by a lake on top of Hampstead Heath. Works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Turner, Reynolds and Gainsborough form the famous Iveagh Bequest, handed down to the state by the owner of Kenwood House, brewing magnate Edward Cecil Guinness.
