Last year, Kings of Leon really hit the big time, headlining festivals, rocking daytime playlists on every radio station, and soundtracking cafes, cars and shops all over the country. In the summer, the Nashville rockers played in front of 65,000 fans in Hyde Park - their biggest UK gig to date - and wowed London with their soaring, 70s-style riffs (despite a rather dodgy soundsystem). Now the Kings are back with two more open-air afternoon gigs in London's most central park. Come Around Sundown, last autumn's follow up to the critically acclaimed Only By The Night, may have not had the same kind of impact as its (admittedly overplayed) predecessor, but the Tennessee quartet remain one of the world's most popular live acts and these midweek back-to-back gigs will no doubt be sold-out very early on. Technically two different parks, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are in practical terms one huge, merging expanse. The 'split' dates back to 1728 when Queen Caroline, wife of George II, took almost 300 acres from Hyde Park to form Kensington Gardens.
