Folk band Lanterns on the Lake blend together graceful folk with aspects of rock on their debut album Gracious Tide, Take Me Home. Using a smorgasbord of instruments - from the familiar guitar, violin and piano to the quirkier synth, glockenspiel and mandolin and a combination of breathy female and silky male vocals, the sextet from Newcastle have embraced familiar wistful folk music while still offering a little more depth and originality. As part of two live UK dates, the band will be stopping by London's Scala for one night this June.
Taking place at Scala, the event will be in the heart of central London and close to a number of other sights and attractions. If you're hoping to find a hotel near Scala, be sure to visit our London Hotels page for some great deals.
About Scala
Housed inside the old King's Cross Cinema, the Scala might be a bit tattered around the edges but this only adds to its battered charm. The venue welcomed legends like Iggy Pop during the 70s, but didn't become a purely music venue until 1993. More about Scala
