Late at Tate Britain: Passage
THIS EVENT ENDED ON THE 2ND AUGUST 2019
Nearby

For this month's Friday Late, Tate Britain takes inspiration from the works of great British artist, Frank Bowling. Taking the theme of Passage, the event will look at the significance of the abstract expressionist's life as well as the passage of music, poetry and the passage we take from A to B in terms of 'right of passage'. The evening will offer a special line-up of interactive workshops, discussions and performances, including a piece by digital artist Gary Stewart, music performances from Doc Browling and his Blues Professors and a screening of rare archive footage of Frank in his studio in New York City. There will also be workshops on facial recognition and the use of light in painting.
About Tate Britain
Overlooking the River Thames, Tate Britain was originally founded through the philanthropy of the sugar magnate Sir Henry Tate. The Tate legacy now encompasses three other galleries around the UK, including Tate Modern also in London. Dedicated to showcasing Britain's artistic talent, Tate Britain is home to the greatest collection of British art from 1500 to the present day. More about Tate Britain
