Lemony Snicket's Latke Who Couldn't Stop ScreamingA wonderfully strange tale by Lemony Snicket, adapted for the stage by YaD Arts, arrives at the Roundhouse this December. The enchantingly absurd story opens in a small snowy village deep in the throes of the festive period, here we meet a new born Hanukkah Latke (that's a fried potato pancake to you and I), whose only wish is to avoid the pan of boiling oil that inevitably awaits him. The vivid and ridiculous plot is brought to life by the Tall Stories company, whose sell out show Twinkle Twonkle dazzled audiences last year. The Latke Who Couldn't Stop Screaming is undoubtedly one of the season's most imaginative (and daft) productions and is suitable for anyone aged five and above.

About Roundhouse

It's great to see this fabulous arts venue re-open its doors after a stunning refurbishment. Boasting a colourful history, the Roundhouse initially started life as an engine shed. It was later transformed into a bonded warehouse for Gilbey's Gin before Arnold Wesker the playwright came along in 1964 and established Centre 42 here, insisting it became one of the most cutting-edge performing arts venue in the country.
