Liberian GirlPerformed as part of the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict in front of an audience including Angelina Jolie and William Hague, Diana Nneka Atuona's first play tells the story of one teenage girl's survival amidst the atrocities of Civil War. Staged at the Royal Court's Jerwood Theatre Upstairs, Liberian Girl follows the girl between 1989 and 2003, when over 200,000 people were killed in Liberia, and we discover the nature and the cost of survival.

About Royal Court Theatre

Dedicated to putting on new work and discovering new voices, the Royal Court Theatre was seen as 'the most important theatre in Europe' by no less an authority than The New York Times. In 1956 it staged John Osborne's Look Back in Anger - a landmark in modern British drama - and the Sloane Square theatre has continued to produce work of an equally high standard, with numerous productions making a successful transition to the West End.
