Light Show

Through the works of artists like Olafur Eliasson, Anthony McCall and Conrad Shawcross Light Show at The Hayward Gallery explores the nature of light and its ability to sculpt and shape. Using artworks from the 1960s onwards, Light Show explores the powerful effect of light and the way in which it can affect our states of mind. The exhibition showcases visually stimulating artworks as well as rare works not seen for decades and re-created specially for the Hayward Gallery. These include intangible sculptures and installations that use light to create atmospheric pieces that you can move around and through. A sensory experience that enables visitors to experience light in all its forms, whether colourful or casting a shadow.
About The Hayward Gallery
The Hayward Gallery has been the originator or host of influential exhibitions since 1968. It mounts temporary exhibitions of contemporary and historical art. The gallery, named after the late Sir Isaac Hayward, the former leader of the London County Council, is also responsible for National Touring exhibitions and for the Arts Council Collection, which it manages on behalf of the Arts Council of England.
