Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, Duran Duran and Paolo Nutini perform for the BT London Live Opening Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park on Friday 27th July to celebrate the opening of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will be broadcast live on giant screens as part of the concert. The event kick starts the London Live events at Hyde Park which run from 27th July to 12th August 2012 and include big screens showing coverage of every Olympic medal event, a Have-A-Go Sports zone and free daily musical performances by pop and rock artists including Newton Faulkner, The Beat, Saint Etienne, The Overtones and Temper Trap. While the Opening Ceremony is paid for, all these other acts will be performing at Hyde Park at free ticketed concerts in celebration of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
About Hyde Park
Technically two different parks, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are in practical terms one huge, merging expanse. The 'split' dates back to 1728 when Queen Caroline, wife of George II, took almost 300 acres from Hyde Park to form Kensington Gardens. The 350 acres that remained has become one of London's best-loved parks. More about Hyde Park
