Blending speed, agility and skill, Badminton is one of those sports which captivates fans and newcomers alike. The Olympic Badminton programme for London 2012 takes place at Wembley Arena in the north west of London from Saturday 28 July until Sunday 5 August. Don't be fooled by the appearance of the shuttlecocks: made with 16 feathers plucked from the left wing of a goose, they are known to travel at speeds in excess of 400km/h! The five medal events include the men's and women's singles, the men's and women's doubles, and mixed doubles. Despite the origins of the sport being developed in England, Asian countries such as China, Indonesia and South Korea now dominate the sport - winning a combined 23 of the 24 gold medals awarded since the sport's first appearance in Barcelona Games of 1992.About London Olympics: Wembley Arena
