The London Science Festival prompts us to see science in the city. Through collaborations with leading scientists, artists, museums, universities and independent organisations including the Natural History Museum, the festival opens science up to inspire audiences of all ages. Key curatorial themes for the 2014 festival are Life, and Science & London, and the full programme will be released in August. In the meantime, last year's programme will give an idea of the type of things you can expect: events included a guided tour of the engineering marvels of London 2012 in Stratford, a tour of the London sites of some of Brunel's biggest engineering achievements, and an art / science exhibition, Helix, at the GV Art Gallery in Marylebone. Essentially, the London Science Festival opens science up to audiences of all ages, creates forums for debate, and encourages participation through events, many of which are free of charge and drop-in.
